Grangerfords and Sheperdsons
Huck and Jim continue down the
Mississippi River and are looking for a town called Cairo. Huck and Jim see
lights and Huck takes off in the canoe. Huck plans on turning Jim in but
decides against it when Jim call him his friend. Huck starts to paddle to shore
but is stopped by two men on a skiff. Huck claimed he was with his father and he was sick with smallpox. The men give Huck twenty dollar a piece and get away. Huck and Jim continue down the river and the raft gets run over by a steamboat. Huck washes up on shore and gets found by the Grangerfords. Huck tells them his name is George Jackson. The Grangerfords debate on whether or not they should let him stay. They let him stay. They ley Huck room with their son, Buck. Huck finds out that the Grangerfords have a rivalry with the Sheperdsons. The Grangerfords are nice to Huck and take care of him. One day the Grangerford's daughter ran away with one of the Shepherdson's sons. The Grangerfords and the Shepherdsons start to fight each other. Huck gets caught up in the middle of it and ends up in a tree to avoid being shot. Many people die. Huck watched Buck die. Huck decides to find Jim and get out of there.
